GOVERNOR SUNUNU URGED TO SIGN BAN ON DELTA-8 THC

Legislation Combatting Dangerous THC Drugs Will Help Protect Public Health and Safety

Smart Approaches to Marijuana Action (SAM Action) President and CEO Dr. Kevin Sabet, a former White House drug policy advisor to Presidents Obama, Bush, and Clinton, released the following statement today urging New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu to sign Senate Bill 505, which has passed both houses of the legislature. The bill would make permanent New Hampshire’s ban on Delta-8 THC products and other hemp-based derivatives that have dangerous psychoactive and intoxicating effects.

“Delta-8 THC products are dangerous drugs that can have devastating consequences on users, especially young people, including increased incidents of psychosis and addiction. More than a dozen states have already banned Delta-8 THC products, and dozens more are in the process of banning these dangerous drugs. We call on Governor Sununu to immediately sign this important legislation. The devastating effects of these drugs have created heartbreak and tragedy for too many families and communities. We applaud the state legislators who supported this ban for their swift action.”
