BOSTON, MA—SAM Action applauds the Massachusetts Supreme Court for its unanimous decision to allow “An Act to Restore a Sensible Marijuana Policy” to appear on the statewide ballot on November 3, 2026, giving the people of Massachusetts the chance to decide the future of commercial marijuana for themselves.
“Voters will now have the final say on whether the promises made by the marijuana industry have matched reality in their communities,” said SAM CEO Kevin A. Sabet. “For years, the marijuana industry promised that commercialization would eliminate the illicit market, protect public health, and improve public safety,” Sabet continued. “Instead, Massachusetts has seen growing concerns about youth exposure, impaired driving, high-potency products, and an industry whose financial interests too often conflict with public health priorities. Now, voters get to weigh those promises against the facts.”
